Meet the author

Hi, I'm Raeschelle.

I'm from Gulfport, Mississippi. I attended Alabama State University, moved to Atlanta in 2001, finished my bachelor's degree at Covenant College, and earned my MBA from Kennesaw State's Coles College of Business in 2009.

I wrote these books because I needed them first. I spent 15 years in corporate America learning the rules the hard way: the benefits nobody explained, the politics nobody warned me about, and the moments when keeping my own record protected my work.

When the PMP showed up on my performance goals, I failed the exam three times. Before every retake, I studied daily for weeks under pressure, worried about the fee, worried about the embarrassment, and comparing myself to peers who already had it. After the third try, I had to wait a year. I stopped doing it for everyone else, and when I was ready, I passed. I went on to earn my PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and in 2024, I passed the Georgia real estate exam on my first try.

I'm the mother of three grown daughters and a grandmother of five. When one of my daughters wasn't recovering the way she should after giving birth to twins, I learned how to speak up in a hospital room.

Jamaica changed me too. I first went with my family in 2022, then took my first solo trip in January 2024, exploring the island on my own for the first time. In 2025, sitting in that water with tears running down my face, I knew it was time to choose myself. That was the start of my next chapter, and of No Shame in the Season.

If you take one thing from my books, let it be this: follow what fulfills you, and do it when you're ready. The right thing at the wrong time doesn't add value. Choose what does.
